salted popcorn

Whenever I find, accidentally or on purpose, a TV show that is very entertaining whether its a comedy, drama, gruesome or a combination thereof they tend to have a “watch it over and over again” effect on me. Even if the show is rife with truthful inaccuracies I tend to let it go. I mean c’mon it is TV, right?
As of late my lists consists of Drop Dead Diva, Lie to Me (both the US series and Korean drama), Psych and of course NCIS. As always this “hobby” that takes hours of concentration, proper ventilation and even lighting needs a very appropriate company. POPCORN.
Basic Popcorn
3/4 cup corn kernels
2 tbsp vegetable oil
salt
melted butter (optional)
caramel(optional)
1. Heat oil in a 4 quart pan over medium heat.
2. Place the corn kernels in an even layer in the pan, tossing lightly to coat kernels with oil. Cover.
3. When kernels start popping, gently shake the pan over the burner. Keep the lid on (I used one with a tiny opening) but make sure steam is released. Once the popping slows down to several seconds between pops, turn off heat.
4. Transfer to a bowl (or paper bag) and flavor the popcorn with anything you desire. I like it with plain salt.
