May 25th was the worst. My flight was marked 5:55 am, so we woke up as early as 4 to get ready and drive the 1 hour and 20 mins to the airport. I was nervous as always. However, when an announcement of a flight delay came I got scared. I had a feeling I won’t make it to my international flight. This is the first time I booked a same day flight abroad and was hoping I’d get through it hassle free. BUT NO. Cebu Pacific Air had other plans. I wasn’t even supposed to book a CebuPac flight but it was the only flight available that worked for a flight I booked ahead. I should have listened to my gut to not use CebuPac again. Ten years I haven’t so was it fate that it was the only flight available within my time range?
I missed my connecting flight with another airline.
So anyways, as it has been said many many times, CebuPac customer service is crap, and it really is. The best option was to purchase another ticket worth around 15K Php. Another hurdle was that mean Immigration lady. Let me tell you, there’s a difference between being strict and being mean–and that lady was mean.
Moving on. I made it here. The taxi driver who spoke a little English was also mean that I was teary eyed when he raised his voice and I said, “I’m sorry, it’s my first time here.” The hostel was lovely and clean, there was a snobby fat cat. I didn’t get lost.
Fast forward today. The people who regaled me with happy stories (didn’t) lie but I didn’t experience what they claimed I should have.
I was placed under a racist, mean and slave driver boss. She’s a catholic nun. What a shame.
I survived. I’m moving on.
Oh and I’m currently wondering why I’m not maximizing my time here in Bangkok when I practically live rent free?
The only “touristy” thing I’ve done is to go to Chatuchak Weekend Market. JJ Market was definitely my scene though.
