watermelon and lemon cooler

If I would say so, I was busy but not really. I did have a few errands I needed to do in the past few days and it took some time before I could make a decent meal or drink then post about it. Again, there’s this problem with a household staff that sent me doing chores I normally would never do. Oh and I had to change light bulbs, fix window panels and exorcise demons. Demanding days indeed. It was however fun, exciting no matter how fleeting. I realized that there are so many ways to go around and about any given situation. But, whatever I’m talking about isn’t really anyone’s business. Although I’d love to share but I think all of us, citizens of the web is already filled with our own lives, yes?
Today however, I was free. After getting custody of the television in the living room. I went ahead and prepared a nice touch, something I can dispose of if not needed. Not to worry, I didn’t experiment on my human companions. (Yes, I sometimes deliver pranks no one expects to be successful.) They already know how I prefer my television hour and besides all five of us do have our own entertainment places in our individual rooms. So I proceeded and made a drink. I have no idea what to call it at first since it didn’t come from a recipe somewhere but was created out of haste. One thing I had to make sure was that it must include at least white wine. So here it is.

afternoon cooler

Watermelon juice 1 cup
white wine 1 cup
club soda 2/3 cup (more or less)
sugar 2 tsp (1 tsp each serving)
juice of half a lemon
1. Dip the rim of each glass in a bowl of cold water, shake off excess. Then dip the rim again in a plate with fine salt. Set aside.
2. Mix all ingredients in a pitcher. I suggest you make sure the ingredients are cold. Pour in each glass. Garnish with lemon slices or wedges, enjoy.
I know I did something wrong here in the procedure. I’m sure I needed to chill the glass or make sure that the ingredients are really cold of perhaps I prepared ice. Whatever it was I’ll find out soon enough.
I was knocked down. Gone were the days when it took a liter of beer and some vodka to bring me to my knees or make me crawl to my bed. I slept like a dead man. I woke up and didn’t know if it was 5 in the morning or early evening. It turned out to be early evening, so four hours per half a cup of white wine diluted in other liquids. How sad. Or maybe I should be happy. I’ll decide later.
