A lot of times my tolerance has failed me. Most of those times are brought by the fact that I couldn’t be bothered to argue. I’m talking about eating out with family or friends, mostly family. They’re easily swayed by pretty little plates or dainty tabletops or even just the prospect of being in a franchise restaurant. Oi, how boring, I usually mutter silently. Just like today, again it happened. We went to this quaint Chinese restaurant where they offer rice-toppings, noodles, congee and such. My mother cannot stop talking about how good it is. As it turned out it is. Most of it. I ordered one chicken congee. The congee was bland. The chicken however was unmistakably well cooked and delicious.
It wasn’t really a fail. I was just hoping everything in the menu was as good as mother and brother advertised.
So yes, despite the congee incident I recommend the place. The price is reasonable and the serving is substantial.
Speaking of franchise restaurants. I do love some of them.
I like KFC’s original fried chicken doused in gravy and fries.
I like Greenwich’s chicken pasta platter.
I like Joilibee’s spaghetti.
I like Tapa King’s Chicken and Pasta.
I like Wendy’s Bacon and Tuna Melt.
I like Pancake House’s well, pancakes.
I like Kenny Rogers’ Baby Back Ribs.
I like Max’s roast chicken.
So far, that’s all I can share.
All that talk made me thirsty so I made myself a quick pick me up, sweet milk tea.
