person of interest
My favourite superhero of all time is Batman. It hasn’t changed since I learned about him back in grade school. Never mind that it was thru the worst batman movie ever. Excuse me Mr. Clooney, I adore you to bits but your batman movie sucked big time. The reason mainly is because his hideout is a cave, “How clever is that?” I always thought. Seldom do people bother you in cave, right? He can do all his manipulating, planning and grand entrance mysteriously. Although I don’t think it was much of a necessity for him to be in that cave. No one would bother bothering him granted he is Bruce Wayne, reclusive and eccentric billionaire with one loyal protective butler. I wonder what the creator’s reason was.
The best Batman choice, in my opinion, is Christian Bale. The Batman Begins movie (despite its few misses) was tremendously entertaining, intuitive, well-paced and much more closer to humanity.
Well, it is perhaps better if I elaborate but I’m not much of a movie-review person so I’ll leave it at that.
Speaking of Batman Begins, I had the rare chance and marvellous opportunity of experiencing a comical event related to Christian Bale. I mistook him as the lead role in this new show Person of Interest. I am interested in the show’s premise first and foremost but it just got stuck in my mind that he is Christian Bale. They do look similar, yes? My deepest apologies to Jim Caviezel. You were perfect for the role.
The comical event I’m talking about however is the fact that I did not actually watch it more like I listened to it on TV. That specific night and hour of the season premier WB Philippines (in my location at least) had a signal interruption. I sat there in awe (the show sounded exciting and intellectual) and in the verge of tears because for some reason when commercials run the reception comes back on.
Was I being punished?
Anyways, I stayed up all night waiting for the encore run. I waited in vain. I went to sleep after waiting for 4 hours. The next day after doing my usual activities I was able to catch the second encore run.
I loved it.

salad softegg
Red Radish-Iceberg Lettuce Salad
(1 to 2 servings)
1 pc small red radish (champion or cherry belle), sliced thinly
1 1/2 cup iceberg lettuce, already torn apart
1 pc egg, soft-boiled, quartered
5 pcs cubed toasted brown bread or croutons
Honey-Mustard Vinaigrette
3 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 ½ tbsp honey (more or less depending on your taste)
Salt, a pinch
Pepper, a pinch
Procedure:
Honey-Mustard Vinaigrette: Whisk together oil and mustard until well blended. In between whisking, add salt and pepper. Then slowly add honey. Adjust the taste according to your preferred taste.
Salad: Boil an egg for 4 minutes then immediately dunk in cold water. In a bowl, slightly sprinkle salt on the sliced red radish and let stand for 10 minutes. Then, squeeze out the juices carefully to keep the radishes’ shape then wash under running water to remove salty residue. In a shallow dish, arrange the radish, lettuce, cubed bread and soft-boiled egg. Drizzle with prepared vinaigrette.
Note: I’m using the basic vinaigrette ratio of 3 parts oil to 1 part vinegar.
